Objective: Students will use their knowledge of research and easybib to create a 6 slide presentation about Puritan history.
Day 1:
Objective: Find 1 credible site to answer your research question and copy the citation to slide 4 of your presentation.
Checklist of things to do:
- Open the link for "Puritan Background Template" (bottom of this page).
- Make a copy of the template (go to "file: make a copy")
- Rename the file with YOUR NAME, YOUR TOPIC.
- Research a site that provides a specific answer to your research topic
- Use EASYBIB.COM to create an MLA citation. Include the URL in the citation.
- Paste the EASYBIB citation onto slide 4 of your presentation.
Day 2
Objective: Students will create a bubble map to refine their research topic. Students will then use that bubble map to write precise sentences for the slide in their presentation.
Checklist of things to do:
- Create a bubble map on a piece of paper.
- Starting with your general topic, expand your bubble map at least 4 levels to create a specific statement about your topic.
- In your presentation, write a single sentence for each slide. The sentence should answer the slide's question.
- Add any images that will improve the message of your sentence.
Using a bubble map will make it easier to get to a more specific idea of your research topic. It can also help you become more organized.
